When you think of good photography weather, you probably picture a bright sun beaming down from a clear blue sky. That’s a beautiful sight indeed, but you might be surprised to hear that a lot of photographers actually root for a lousy day.
If you’ve ever been to South Florida you know that the heat can be oppressive. This is doubly true during the Summer, triply true if you have a baby with you, and quadruply true if you plan on taking photos and don’t want a sweaty face to ruin your makeup.
I was tired from working. Dannie was tired from working. Lisa was sleeping in the backseat. We’d spent the entire previous day doing photo shoots.
Lisa had just started sitting up on her own when she stayed in her first hotel. The way we saw it as first time parents staying in a hotel with their baby, we had two big challenges taking her on the road with us (having somehow decided that driving 5 hours with a baby wasn’t a challenge…
We’re always on the lookout for great photo shoot locations, and we wanted to share a tip with our fellow travel enthusiasts.
When Dannie and I travel, one of our highest priorities is to come home with some great photos. That’s why it’s so nice when we can go somewhere with an exotic feel without having to fly halfway around the world.
I’m not sure when it happened, but something inside of me changed. All of a sudden, I was going to the Florida Strawberry Festival, and the part I was most excited about was the strawberries.
Fort DeSoto Park always makes me think of love. Not only do we photograph studio clients there all the time, we also spent a week camping there on vacation together back when we were dating.
I’m as guilty as anyone else of hopping onto Amazon for an hour or two on Black Friday, but I still prefer the feeling of gratitude and contentment that was with me all day on Thanksgiving Day.
