Jake and Dannie Earlier this month we joined Kristin and Travis on the beaches of Honeymoon Island for an engagement session by the light of the setting sun. It was a windy day, and as we walked down the grassy path toward the beach we could smell the salt in the air blowing in from the water. Kristin and Travis walked in front so we could take some candid photos - one thing I’ve noticed about engagement photography, you never have to tell the future bride and groom to hold hands.
We explored the beaches together, getting sandy, getting wet, and enjoying the sunshine. Later, going through the photos together, Jake and I talked about how easy it is to take pictures of people who are in love. When they look at one another they smile, and when they are near one another they move nearer, naturally and gracefully. The sunset that night was long and beautiful - we hurried to take photos while “peak color” lasted, but it seemed like it never ended.
Our evening with Kristen and Travis was a great experience - you know a shoot is going well when it gets dark and the park ranger has to tell you to leave.
